Broken

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Amber who
was born blind. She did not have a very good childhood
because she did not experience things such as colour,
beauty and light. All she had was darkness in her life
as most of the people in her school ignored her because
she was different. The only thing that kept her going was
her parents who helped her as much as they could but
there was just so much they could do.

In school she was often teased and jeered by her classmates
because she was differet and because of her disability. She
was often alone in the empty darkness which was her life.
Often she would cry at night, the only thing that her eyes
were able to do. However one day she met Tyler.

Tyler was a classmate of Amber and they became very good
friends. They shared secrets, talked about life and kept each
other company. For once Amber felt happy in her life, happy
that she is being cared by someone else aside from her parents.
They were very close and eventually they became lovers. Life
was happy for them when suddenly one day...

Amber's parents broke the good news for her. The hospital
recently received a pair of eyes from a donor and they were
able to give her vision after some surgery. Amber was very
happy and told Tyler the good news. He was happy for her

of course but there was some sadness in his voice. Amber
couldnt really find out why but she never thought much of
it.

On the very next week Amber went for the surgery and
a few months later she gained vision. She was able to see
things, colours and light. The first thing she wanted to do
however was to see Tyler, to see how her lover looks like!
But aparently she found out Tyler was blind too. She was
very disappointed and eventually they drifted apart.

I can never love a man like you!
You only remind me of my lousy past!
Both of us have no future!
What can you do to provide a family?
Those words from Amber stung like a dagger in Tyler's
heart. He was nothing to her anymore, just something
from her past.

Eventually Amber had a new life, with her vision she was
able to see new things, see different places, look at beautiful
colours. With her vision she was able to get a job and eventually
a family. With her vision her life changed dramtically, it was
truely a blessing. It has been a long time and she had totally
forgotten about Tyler.

One day, Amber found a rose with a note a her front door.
Thinking it was from her husband she opened the note
and read it. It said...

Dear Amber,

I know I have let you down, but I have tried
my best in making you happy. Life is not fair,
I know that. It doesn't matter to me that you
do not accept me for who I am but Im happy
for you. Because you can finally see the world
with MY eyes...

Tyler..
